Aamir Khan is returning to the big screen after 4 years with his hard work, Laal Singh Chaddha, the official adaptation of the Tom Hanks classic, Forrest Gump. The film reunited him with Kareena Kapoor after 3 edits and searches. Directed by Advaita Chandan, Laal Singh Chaddha was certified U/A by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with an approved runtime of 2 hours 44 minutes (164 minutes). The makers are eyeing a wide release across India, with a large number of shows in national multiplex chains.

Pricing is more or less in the popular space, much less than the blockbuster price slabs expected back in the day. The film is releasing in around 3500 screens in India (including Tamil and Telugu), and will get a daily exposure of 10,000 shows in the North. If the audience reports go in its favor, the Aamir Khan starrer will have plenty of room to make a splash at the box office. It’s a long holiday week, as the film will take advantage of the Raksha Bandhan holiday on Thursday, Independence Day on Monday, Parsi New Year on Tuesday and finally, Janmashtami on the second Thursday. These holidays are in addition to regular weekend benefits on Saturdays and Sundays.

However, the progress is much higher than two other recent releases, Samrat Prithviraj and Shamsheera. History has it that advance can paint a false picture of an opening day, especially for a holiday release, and Lal Singh Chadha also seems to be mostly spot on for a healthy opening day overall.
