Minister of State for External Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar has said that it is too early to celebrate FATF. The process of getting out of the gray list has just started. We want FATF to remain neutral.
Talking to media in Islamabad, the Minister of State for External Affairs said that Pakistan had provided financial support to terrorist activities. In difficult times, we worked as one nation. We know how difficult it is to get out of the gray list. Hopefully Pakistan will get out of the FATF gray list forever.
Hina Rabbani Khar further said that FATF team will come to Pakistan soon after consultation. This is not the end, this is the beginning. We will not give up our efforts. We want FATF to remain neutral. I am happy that FATF has cleared Pakistan.
The Minister of State said that FATF reviewed Pakistan’s initiatives in its meeting. In this regard, financing of terrorists and implementation of measures to curb money laundering were at the forefront. Efforts were made by Pakistan to meet all the conditions.
Talking to media, the Minister of State further said that FATF acknowledged that Pakistan had worked hard to curb terrorist financing and money laundering. Fatif said that Pakistan did its best to meet the conditions. Pakistan’s performance was praised by member countries.

He said that the FATF team would visit Pakistan to further examine the fulfillment of conditions. There is no doubt that the conditions of FATF were difficult. Hopefully, the process of getting out of the gray list will be completed by October. We are in touch with FATF officials in this regard.
Minister of State for External Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar said that the removal of FATF from the gray list would have a positive impact on the economy, however, it would be premature to celebrate on this issue. The process of getting out of the gray list has just begun. FATF issued 2 action plans simultaneously.
He added that meetings were held with various leaders on the sidelines during the FATF meeting. Governments come and go, but what the state has done is commendable. Pakistan will also be a model country for other countries. The first action plan took time to complete but the second volume was completed.
Hina Rabbani Khar said that when a country is removed from the gray list, the technical team has to visit. Pakistan’s cooperation with FATF and the international community is part of its efforts to improve the economy. In this regard, national and provincial institutions also did their job in the best possible way. We are now in a position to provide assistance to other countries.
The Minister of State said that no action was pending against Pakistan. A country always tries to give a political color to this process, but we will not say anything negative. We want to see Pakistan move forward. No one gets credit for this, the real victory belongs to Pakistan.
